Surprise! My fishbone cactus (AKA Zig Zag plant) flowered! It stealthily put out 6 buds, all at the same time, and within a few days the buds transformed to large yellow blooms. They exuded an exotic scent at night, flowered for exactly one day, and then wilted. They are apparently related to Christmas Cacti and like the same treatment: to be outdoors all summer in a shady spot, almost completely neglected until moments before the first frost, when they are hastily brought back indoors..
